‘Fusion’ by Ilkka Suppanen, 2016 (Murano glass), is a totem of variously colored stones, ranging from turquoise and aqua to transparent, that look as though they have been placed precariously on top of each other. I was inspired by the ethereal yet stable nature of this piece. It balances metaphorically and physically the possibilities between humanmade creations, the spiritual, curiosity and our innate desire to develop.
